Annual Report 2011
Economic Relations between Italy and Mediterranean Area
This volume organises and develops the main research papers produced by the Permanent Observatory on the Economic Relations between Italy and the Mediterranean area. Our research work moves from a broad concept of the Mediterranean, ranging from the North Adriatic to Morocco, and on to all the Southern Rim countries. Part one, entitled “Economy, business, and trade dynamics”, draws a macroeconomic picture of the MENA region, and offers a detailed analysis of Italian trade with the region. Part two, “Financial flows: Sovereign Wealth Funds and migrant worker remittances”, examines the aspects of capital flows existing and entering Italy. Part three, “Infrastructures in the Mediterranean: maritime transport, logistics, and energy networks” analyses maritime traffic flows, port and port hinterland systems and new energy networks and corridors.
